Journelle: Empowering Women While Helping Save the Planet

journelle-recycling-ambassador

We are thrilled to announce that The Bra Recyclers has teamed up with Journelle, a renowned lingerie retailer, as our newest recycling ambassador! Journelle, known for its commitment to providing a safe and inclusive space for women, shares our vision of sustainability and empowerment. Together, we are excited to launch an Earth Day initiative that aims to make a positive impact on both women and the planet.

Earth Day Bra Drive in New York

Starting from Earth Day on April 22nd and running through June, Journelle will be hosting a bra drive at their three store locations in New York City. This initiative encourages recyclers to recycle gently used bras, which will be donated to women in need or repurposed through sustainable textile recycling. By participating in this bra drive, you are not only keeping bras out of landfills but also supporting women in need.

Words from the CEO of Journelle

Sapna Palep, Co-CEO and Owner of Journelle, shared her thoughts on the importance of well-fitted bras and how they can impact women's lives. She emphasized,

"Our priority at Journelle has always been to create a safe space for women. We understand that a well-fitted bra is something all women should have access to, as it can make a profound difference in their quality of life. Studies have shown that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size. We as women have all felt the physical and emotional impact that can cause. It’s important to find what works for your body — your size, your shape, and your style. Beginning in girlhood, young girls who feel confident grow into women who can change the world. It’s about women helping women helping Mother Earth to create a cyclical and sustainable system where bras do not end up in landfills but rather go to the women who deserve them most and are in need."
