October is Bra Recycling Month: Restoring Dignity and Empowering Lives Beyond Circumstances

Bra Recycling Month πŸŽ—οΈ

Every October, our team at The Bra Recyclers hosts our annual event, Bra Recycling Month.

Our mission is to extend the reach of organizations worldwide and strengthen their impact in providing vulnerable women and girls with the bras and prostheses they need to live safe and comfortable lives.

As the CEO and Founder of The Bra Recyclers, I launched Bra Recycling Month to provide an opportunity for people to support domestic violence, human trafficking, and breast cancer survivors.

In October, a month dedicated to Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness, The Bra Recyclers and our nonprofit arm, The Undie Chest, present "Restoring Dignity: Empowering Lives Beyond Circumstances."

Restoring dignity shines as a beacon of hope in a world often marked by challenges and inequalities. It embodies compassion and empathy, giving individuals the strength to rise above their circumstances and reclaim their self-worth and pride.

We aim to collect 20,000 undies and $20,000 in donations through our nonprofit, The Undie Chest.

Our Focus: Restoring Dignity

This October, we stand in solidarity with Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer survivors - communities at the core of our mission through The Undie Power Program and the Everyone Deserves Underwear Program.

These programs embody our commitment to restoring dignity in the face of adversity.

Your Impact: Transforming Lives

Through your efforts to recycle gently used bras, mastectomy/post-surgery bras, and prostheses, we aim to extend our hands to support those who need it most and prevent new underwear from going into landfills.

We understand that something seemingly simple, such as a pair of underwear, can affect an individual's self-esteem and overall well-being.

Restoring dignity is a profound undertaking that holds the power to transform lives and shape a more compassionate society.

As we navigate the complexities of our world, let us each play our part in restoring dignity, empowering lives beyond circumstances, and igniting a brighter future for all.

How to Get Involved

Besides spreading the word to your networks of friends, family, and business associates, here are ways you can get involved:

πŸ‘‰ Host a bra and undie drive in your community.

πŸ‘‰ Recycle gently used bras or new and unused mastectomy bras/post-surgical bras, and prosthesis.

πŸ‘‰ Purchase new underwear from our Undie Wishlist.

πŸ‘‰ Donate new underwear or gently used/like-new bras.

πŸ‘‰ Make a monetary donation to help reach our $20,000 goal.

What We Accept:

βœ… Underwear in all sizes for women and men are needed.

βœ… New/like-new mastectomy bras, post-surgical bras, prosthesis

βœ… Bra sizes in high demand are 36D+ - 44D+.

βœ… Men’s underwear sizes large - 2X are rarely received and in high demand.

βœ… Our greatest need is men's and boys' underwear and women's sports bras.
