Social Responsibility

Partnerships and Collaborations

Key to any Social Enterprise, The Bra Recyclers was founded based on seeing a community's need and deciding to do something about it.

Our success in impacting our planet and the people who live on it is only possible with partnerships and collaborations with retailers and environmentally conscious individuals and groups worldwide.

Everyone has the opportunity to make an impact in their communities. Our Ambassadors are located worldwide and help us spread the word about the importance of bra recycling and its impact on our environment and women and girls escaping domestic violence and human trafficking.

To become a Recycling Ambassador, you can complete the Recycling Ambassador Form.

Our Ambassadors serve as drop-off locations in their community and/or hold bra drives to help raise awareness about recycling and its impact on the lives of families in their communities.

We are committed to sustainability and believe everyone is responsible for taking care of ourselves, each other, and our planet.

As a Social Enterprise, The Bra Recyclers has been addressing two problems:

  1. The lack of bras and underwear for families in need, particularly for women and girls in developing countries and/or escaping domestic violence and human trafficking

  2. Reducing the number of reusable textiles unnecessarily going to our landfills. Because The Bra Recyclers was founded first and foremost on fulfilling a need in our community, we must integrate our giving into all aspects of our operations and company culture.

The nonprofit organizations we support use their resources to help families and individuals in transition with the necessary resources to thrive.

In partnership with our Ambassadors and Community Partners, we donate preloved bras and new underwear to help their program participants get that extra 'boost' they need on their journey to self-sufficiency.

Community Partnerships

The Bra Recyclers is committed to supporting local businesses and organizations that give opportunities to individuals who face challenges working in the 'typical' workforce environment. Our Community Partners support the operations and shipping logistics of The Bra Recyclers. We are so excited to provide meaningful work to deserving individuals in our community.

EPI-HAB was founded in 1958 by business and medical professionals who volunteered their time and efforts to form a company “to provide employment opportunities for individuals with epilepsy.” At that time, people with epilepsy had few opportunities for meaningful employment in Phoenix. Over its 60+ years, EPI-HAB has assisted hundreds of individuals while simultaneously satisfying the needs of many large and small businesses.

We’re Committed to Five of the U.N
Sustainable Development Goals

We’re taking action for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

We understand that our actions, behaviors, and choices make an impact on the community, environment, and economy.

We are committed to making intentional choices that will benefit the quality of life for ourselves and advocate for choices that benefit the lives of others.

  • By providing women and girls with access to clean and properly fitting bras, we aim to contribute to poverty alleviation efforts and empower women to improve their quality of life.

  • We believe that providing access to clean underwear to those in need can also contribute to a better quality of life, which in turn can enhance educational opportunities and outcomes.

  • Through our efforts to recycle bras, we aim to reduce waste and conserve resources, which in turn helps to protect our water sources and promote sustainable water management practices.

  • By providing bras to those in need, we aim to promote self-confidence, comfort, and dignity, regardless of one's financial status or background. We also strive to work with organizations that support underprivileged women and girls to reduce inequality and promote equal opportunities for all.

  • Our efforts help to reduce the environmental impact of textile production and waste, which is a major contributor to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. By extending the lifespan of bras, we are reducing the need for new production and consumption, which can lead to further resource depletion and waste.
