Valentine’s Shopping, With Impact: Recycle Your Bras While You Refresh Your Drawer
Valentine’s Day often comes with a reason to refresh. A new bra. New underwear. Something that feels good to wear, whether you’re shopping for someone special or simply treating yourself.
What often gets left behind are the bras sitting quietly at the back of the drawer. Gently used. No longer worn. Not quite ready for the bin, but not getting any love either.
This Valentine’s season, there’s an easy way to make space for the new while giving something meaningful a second life.
Shopping for lingerie this Valentine’s?
If you’re shopping with one of our Bra Recycling Ambassador retailers, you can recycle gently used bras at the same time.
Many of our recycling ambassadors welcome in-store drop-offs, making it simple to bring old bras along when you’re choosing something new. If you’re shopping online, you can select an Ambassador on our recycling form and send your bras in by mail.
Some retailers also offer a small thank-you, like a discount or incentive, when you recycle.
It’s a natural add-on to a moment that’s already about care, confidence, and feeling good.
Why recycling bras matters
Bras and underwear are everyday essentials, but they’re also some of the most needed and least donated items.
For women navigating incredibly difficult moments, access to clean, well-fitting intimates can be quietly transformative.
Recycled bras and donated underwear help support:
🩷 Women rebuilding their lives after crisis or displacement
🩷 Individuals experiencing homelessness who lack access to basic essentials
🩷 Teens and young women who need support to attend school or work
🩷 Families facing financial hardship, where essentials often fall off the priority list
At the same time, recycling bras helps keep complex textiles out of landfills and gives items a chance to be reused responsibly.
It’s a small action that carries both environmental and human impact.
Galentine’s: women supporting women
Valentine’s doesn’t look the same for everyone, and neither does shopping.
For many, it’s a chance to head out with friends, turn everyday errands into something social, and enjoy choosing pieces together.
Our recycling ambassadors invite customers to bring a friend along, clean out their bra drawers, and recycle together while shopping.
It turns a practical task into something shared, light-hearted, and meaningful. In some stores, recycling with your besties may even come with a small thank-you.
By recycling bras during Galentine’s, you’re not only supporting each other but also helping women and girls who need access to essential items.
It’s a simple way to pass care forward and let a shared moment create impact beyond the fitting room.
Where to recycle your bras
You can recycle gently used bras by:
Dropping them off at a participating Bra Recycling Ambassador boutique
Selecting an Ambassador on our recycling form and mail your bras in
(If the ambassador offers discounts, you’ll receive your code with your recycling confirmation email)
Every recycled bra helps extend the life of textiles and supports programs centred on dignity, care, and access.
A Valentine’s season that feels good all around
Whether you’re shopping for a partner, spending the day with friends, or choosing something just for you, Valentine’s is already a moment of renewal.
Adding bra recycling into that moment makes it easier to let go of what you no longer need while supporting someone else in the process.
Find a participating Ambassador retailer, bring along your gently used bras, and start the season feeling good about what you’re wearing and what you’re passing on.
Because love, when shared, has a way of going further.
