How Your Bras Support Arizona’s Family to the Homeless

Every bra donated through The Bra Recyclers has a second life and a lasting purpose.

Through The Undie Chest, our nonprofit arm, these bras reach organizations that serve people in need of comfort and care.

One of those partners is Arizona’s Family to the Homeless (AZFH), a local group that supports individuals and families facing homelessness across Arizona.

Led by Executive Director and Co-founder Tammy Paynter, AZFH provides meals, clothing, prayer, and encouragement through street outreach and community support.

After a recent evening in the field, Tammy shared:

“Everyone was grateful for the underwear. Look at those faces! Thank you for helping us bring hope and a shining light in the darkest of places.”

That night, she met Debra, a woman staying in a shelter and preparing for job interviews.

With new undergarments supplied through The Undie Chest—made possible by donations from The Bra Recyclers community—Tammy was able to offer both comfort and encouragement.

Giving Bras a Second Life

At AZFH, dignity begins with choice.

When guests can choose what fits and feels right, it sends a simple but powerful message: we see you, we care, and your comfort matters.

The Undie Chest helps AZFH meet one of the most requested and least donated needs: clean, well-fitting undergarments.

The Bra Recyclers supports this effort by keeping the supply flowing through bra recycling and redistribution, turning what might have become textile waste into something meaningful.

As Tammy explained in her application:

“Underwear may seem like a small item, but when offered with dignity, it becomes a symbol of care. It tells our guests: You matter. Your comfort matters. Your voice matters.”

The Ripple Effect of Conscious Giving

Recycling your bras reduces waste and supports people rebuilding their lives.

Through The Undie Chest’s partnerships, these donations reach programs like Arizona’s Family to the Homeless, where compassion and community care meet daily need.

The Bra Recyclers is proud to see recycling extend beyond sustainability—bringing comfort, trust, and dignity to those who need it most.
